Privacy Policy
Understanding how we work with your information matters. This document explains our approach to handling the details you share when engaging with Ironex Sigma's budget investing education services.
Effective: January 1, 2026What We Obtain and How
When you register for our learning program or reach out through our contact channels, several pieces of identifying detail come into our system. The intake happens in different ways depending on which part of our educational platform you're accessing.
Registration and Account Creation
Setting up a learning account requires basic contact coordinates—your name, email address, and a password you create. We also capture the timestamp of registration and your geographic location based on IP detection, which helps us understand which regional investment regulations might be most relevant to your learning journey.
Course Participation
As you move through budget investing lessons, our system records progress markers, quiz responses, and completion timestamps. If you submit questions during interactive sessions or post in discussion areas, that content becomes part of your educational record. Payment details for course fees flow through third-party processors—we receive confirmation but not full card numbers.
Communication Channels
Messages sent via our contact form or email to help@ironexsigma.com bring us the content of your inquiry along with whatever contact details you choose to include. Phone calls to our Penticton office at +15199263822 aren't recorded, but we do note call dates and general inquiry topics in our support logs.
Important: We don't actively seek financial account details, investment holdings, or detailed personal financial situations unless you voluntarily share them as examples during educational discussions. Such information isn't required for course access.
Purpose and Operational Function
Every category of detail we obtain serves specific educational or operational needs. This section breaks down why each type matters to how our programs actually work.
| Information Category | Primary Function | User Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Contact Identifiers | Account authentication, communication delivery, support response coordination | Secure access to your learning progress and direct line for questions |
| Progress Tracking Data | Course completion monitoring, personalized learning path adjustment, certification eligibility | Clear visibility into what you've mastered and what comes next |
| Geographic Indicators | Regulatory context provision, local investment example relevance, workshop scheduling | Education tailored to Canadian investment rules and market conditions |
| Payment Confirmation | Course enrollment verification, access permission management | Immediate program access after successful transaction |
| Discussion Contributions | Peer learning facilitation, common question identification, curriculum refinement | Richer educational experience through community insight |
Your email specifically enables course update notifications about new modules launching in early 2026, changes to lesson content, and responses to support inquiries. Without it, there's no reliable way to keep you informed about program developments that might affect your learning timeline.
Progress records let us resume courses exactly where you left off—something surprisingly complex behind the scenes. If you complete module three on Wednesday evening, our system needs to remember that by Thursday morning so you're not forced to repeat material.
Information Movement and External Access
Certain operational requirements mean your details occasionally move beyond our direct control. This happens in limited, specific circumstances tied to platform functionality.
Payment Processing Partners
Course fees get handled by certified payment processors operating under PCI DSS compliance standards. When you enter payment information during enrollment, it travels directly to these processors—not through our servers. They send us back enrollment confirmation stripped of sensitive card details.
Educational Platform Infrastructure
Our learning management system runs on cloud hosting infrastructure. This means course content, user accounts, and progress data physically reside on servers managed by infrastructure providers. Contractual agreements prohibit them from accessing or using your information for anything beyond maintaining server operations.
Email Delivery Services
Course notifications and support responses route through email service providers that handle message transmission. They see recipient addresses and message content during delivery but can't repurpose that information under our service agreements.
Legal Obligations
Canadian law permits information disclosure when genuinely required by valid legal process—court orders, regulatory investigations, or similar formal demands. We'd resist overly broad requests but ultimately comply with legitimate legal authority. Before February 2026, no such disclosure has occurred.
Marketing and Advertising: We don't sell student lists to third parties, rent contact databases, or participate in data broker arrangements. Your enrollment in budget investing education stays between you and Ironex Sigma.
Protection Measures and Remaining Risks
Security involves layers of technical safeguards combined with honest acknowledgment that no system achieves perfect invulnerability. Here's what we've implemented and what limitations persist.
Our educational platform enforces encrypted connections—your browser and our servers communicate through HTTPS protocol that scrambles data during transmission. Password storage uses one-way hashing algorithms, meaning even our technical team can't retrieve your actual password if you forget it. Database access requires multi-factor authentication for any team member who needs to view student records for support purposes.
Access Limitation Protocols
Only three roles within our organization can reach student information: our program director who oversees curriculum development, our support coordinator who handles inquiries, and our technical administrator who maintains platform functionality. Each operates under strict "minimum necessary" guidelines—they see what their role requires, nothing more.
Honest Risk Assessment
Despite these protections, vulnerabilities exist. Sophisticated cyberattacks sometimes breach even well-defended systems. Human error occasionally exposes data through accidental misconfigurations. Service providers we depend on might experience their own security incidents. We monitor for unusual activity and maintain incident response plans, but claiming absolute security would be dishonest.
If a breach affecting student information occurred, we'd notify affected individuals within 72 hours of discovery and report to relevant Canadian authorities as required under PIPEDA regulations.
Your Control and Retention Timeline
You maintain several options for managing what we hold and for how long. The mechanics vary depending on what you're trying to accomplish.
Account Access and Modification
Logged-in students can view their current profile information through account settings and update contact details, change passwords, or modify communication preferences. Progress records and course history remain visible but can't be altered directly—maintaining educational record integrity matters for certification purposes.
Data Retrieval Requests
Emailing help@ironexsigma.com with "Data Export Request" in the subject line triggers our process for compiling a complete record of information we hold about you. We'll send a machine-readable file within ten business days containing your account details, course history, discussion posts, and support correspondence. This export doesn't include system logs or internal operational records that reference your activity indirectly.
Deletion Procedures
Account deletion requests follow a staged process. Immediate removal happens for contact identifiers and login credentials. Course progress records remain archived for three years to handle potential certificate verification requests—employers sometimes check educational credentials years after completion. Discussion posts stay visible but get anonymized (your name changes to "Former Participant"). After three years, everything disappears except transaction records required for tax compliance, which Canadian law mandates we retain for seven years.
Automatic Retention Limits
Inactive accounts—no login for 24 consecutive months—trigger automated warnings sent to your last known email address. If another six months pass without response, the account enters deletion workflow. Support correspondence older than five years gets purged during annual data reviews. Course content interaction logs beyond what's needed for progress tracking get aggregated into anonymous statistical summaries after 18 months.
Withdrawal Limitations: If you've completed courses and received certificates, we can't retroactively erase evidence that you earned those credentials. Educational records serve verification purposes that extend beyond individual privacy preferences. We can sever the connection between your identity and those records, but the records themselves must persist.
Canadian residents possess rights under PIPEDA to challenge the accuracy of personal information, request explanations of how data gets used, and lodge complaints with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner if dissatisfied with our responses. Contact details for that office: 30 Victoria Street, Gatineau, Quebec K1A 1H3, or via their website at priv.gc.ca.
Questions or Concerns?
Our privacy practices evolve as educational programs expand and regulations change. If something in this policy seems unclear, conflicts with your expectations, or raises concerns about how your information gets handled, direct communication usually resolves issues faster than formal processes.
